Bald Mountain is an amazing and mysterious anomaly that still lacks any explanation in scientific sources. This natural site rises over 100 metres over the bank of the Klyazma River. The anomaly of this mountain is that its surface has no vegetation, though there are many hills nearby that have trees growing on them, hence the name.
Monuments
At the northern entrance to the ancient city of Murom from the side of Vladimir, there is a stone sculpture of Ilya Muromets. Locals honour the memory of the legendary hero, who, according to folk legends, was born in Karacharovo, near Murom.

Churches and cathedrals
The first wooden church was built here in 1717. In the 19th century a new stone church was built. In 1911–1912, the bell tower was rebuilt from two to four levels.
It is believed that the bell tower of the Church of the Transfiguration was built on the model of the bell tower of the Peter and Paul Fortress. It is said to be five metres higher than the Cathedral of the Assumption in Vladimir.
