Monument to Dmitry Pozharsky

The monument to Dmitry Pozharsky was unveiled in 1955 near the walls of the Spaso-Yevfimiev Monastery, where the national hero, a native of the Suzdal region, is buried. The bust is placed on a pedestal that resembles the wings of a bird, symbolizing Pozharsky's heroic deed of liberating Moscow. The wings are a fragment of the Kremlin wall. The facade features symbols of military valor, such as a shield and a sword, and the inscription "To Dmitry Pozharsky, from a grateful homeland."
