V.A. Soloukhin Museum and Exhibition Centre
The displays dedicated to the writer's works are located in the house built after the fashion of the typical 19th century hardworking peasant community, with its first floor made of stone and the wooden second floor.
The items on display in the memorial part of the Soloukhin Museum which recreates the 19th-20th century interiors introduce guests to the 'family chronicles' of both the Alepino village and the life and career of V.A. Soloukhin, a great writer.
The literary portion of the memorial house's exhibition shows the materials telling about his writing in the context of the 20th century Russian literature, as well as about his immediate circle.
You will see the table at which the writer's main works were created, the quill used by V.A. Soloukhin for writing, and his manuscripts. You will also see the writer's numerous awards, the medals and orders of the Soviet times. You will be able to listen to his voice on the records containing the author's reading of prose and poetry.
A separate fireplace hall will hold master classes in making candles and Slavic amulet dolls. There will be also master classes in using a Russian stove: cooking a first course, making a pie, milk baking.
In the large hall on the second floor where the old piano stands, you can participate in events, evenings of music and literature, spoken-word competitions, meetings with interesting people.
You will have an excursion around the Alepino village to the writer's ancestral home where he was born and grew up. You will see the Protection of the Holy Mother of God Church where Soloukhin was baptized. And you will be able to visit the grave of V.A. Soloukhin.
