Since 2008, in Russia, on the day of memory of Peter and Fevronia, 8 July, the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity is celebrated, and Murom becomes the capital of this holiday.

To get to know the history of Murom better, you should definitely visit the Historical and Art Museum, which occupies several buildings that are among the cultural heritage of Murom. One of them is the house of the Zvorykin merchants where Vladimir Kozmich Zvorykin, the world-famous scientist, the 'father of television', was born and spent his childhood.

Murom kalachs baked according to a special recipe, have been widely known outside the city for centuries. Even Empress Catherine II found them delicious, and, since then, the city’s coat of arms has been decorated with three kalachs as a symbol of the hospitality of its people.
