Every year the Cucumber Festival is celebrated here, and in cafes, restaurants and shops you can buy cucumber jam (classic or with additives: apple, pear, lime, mint).
In addition to jam, you can also try lemonade, ice cream, curd patty and even cucumber coffee!
Pokrov Gingerbread
One of the region's brands. Fragrant delicious gingerbreads for every taste and budget can be found in many souvenir shops in the region. They are produced in the city of Pokrov. This is where it name comes from.
Interesting fact: You can not only try gingerbread but also see them being made.
Murom Kalach
While cucumber is the symbol of Suzdal, kalach is the symbol of Murom, the homeland of Ilya Muromets, the epic hero. Since ancient times, fragrant kalachs have been made there. There is even a legend in Murom that Empress Catherine II liked them so much that she ordered to depict them on the city’s coat of arms.

In the Petushki and Yuriev-Polsky districts you can try delicious cheeses prepared according to the original recipes.
